Port canaveral is a great place to fish out of. There is ample free parking close to the dock. Several restaurants to eat at when you get back from your fishing trip. Sunrise bait and tackle shop had a good selection of everything you need for a fishing trip and it also had nice clean bathrooms

Fishing in aug is warm water. You can’t keep a lot of fish season closed on some fish the best time is from Dec to June and after September.

Go early and brig sunscreen, hat and glasses. Mike had plenty of water and bait. Bring a camera too, you’d be surprised at all the stuff you see in addition to the fishing. For kids seeing dolphins, a manta ray, Space X boosters etc could be even more memorable than catching fish.
